These are a perfect small batch brownie pan. Sometimes you don't need a big pan of brownies and just need a little something for a little gathering, whether it is bookclub or a bible study, or a playdate, these are quick and easy to whip up. And the black cocoa is such a rich chocolaty experience. I highly recommend having some around! I have several recipes that use it and it is delicious!

Small Batch Freshly Milled Brownies
servings : 12
Ingredients
1 stick unsalted melted butter
2/3 cup pure maple syrup
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla bean paste
1/2 cup unmilled spelt grain
1/3 cup black cocoa powder
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
Directions:
Heat the oven to 350 degrees and line a 9x9 pan with parchment (this is to keep from scratching your pan when you cut them out.
In a bowl, whisk the melted butter and maple syrup together.
Whisk in the eggs and vanilla bean paste until smooth.
Mill the spelt grain on the finest setting of your mill.
Add the spelt flour, black cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder to the liquid ingredients.
Stir until combined
Add the chocolate chips and fold them into the batter.
Use a large cookie scoop to scoop the batter into the pan.
Bake for 12ish minutes, until the center is set and a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs
Cool completely before slicing for the best cuts and texture
Happy Baking!
